From the folks who made candy wrappers a symbol of eco-chic, Ecoist is on the verge of re-establishing itself as the source for sustainable and stylish handbags.
Ecoist’s Fall/Winter 2008 collection marks a new direction for the brand. All of your favorite bags that Ecoist is known for are now available under the Ecoist Classics line. The company is also infamous for teaming up with major companies (like Luna Bar, Coca-Cola, and [soon] M&Ms) to reuse their labels in an exclusive collection of bags. That program is still running strong, now under the Ecoist Flavors name.
In addition to reorganizing their classic collections, Ecoist has introduced a new line for the fashion maven in all of us. Titled Ecoist Luxe, the collection features all new shapes and sizes, along with exclusive colors and patterns for each season. My personal favorite is the Maia bag in Aquamarine [shown at left] - it is big enough to carry all your day-to-day stuff and a Sigg bottle.
Here’s a peek at some of the other great designs (and exclusive colors) from the new Ecoist Luxe collection:

A few designs from the Ecoist Luxe collection are available on Ecoist’s website, with the new, 3-line-based online store opening soon. Along with planting a tree for each bag sold, Ecoist also has a Eco Points program. For each item you buy, you earn Eco Points that can be redeemed for “items, discounts, and much more!”
As promised, Victoria-E.com has an EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT for you! Running from now until October 20th, use the code ECOISTAUTUMN10 for 10% off anything on Ecoist.com. Here are a few things I’m lusting after:
- New York City Subway Map Coasters
- Small Laptop Case from Recycled Movie Billboards
- Oversized “Eyes” Clutch from Natural Jute
