The long-running debate over water bottles is something that I have intentionally avoided here on Victoria-E.com. I can stay silent no longer.
With the FDA announcement that Bisphenol A (BPA) is safe, I’m disgustingly stunned at the all-or-nothing mindset of the United States government. Having recently read Exposed by Mark Schapiro (review coming soon), it is clear that Europe is becoming the new international leader of consumer safety. When will the U.S. learn that it is better to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to the health and well-being of its citizens?
An extensive number of studies have shown BPA to cause problems with brain functions, including mood disorders; abnormal sexual behavior, reproductive cycles and prostate development. BPA can be most widely found in aluminum can linings and certain plastics, including baby and water bottles.
We’ve all heard that drinking out of plastic bottles is bad for not only the planet, but probably our health. So, we get a reusable bottle … but even those can be dangerous! Finally, someone has written a straightforward article that gives you the facts you need about water bottles. Not surprisingly, said article is published on the Gaiam Life website, which I have done an extensive amount of writing for. Click over to Gaiam Life to read’s What Type of Water Bottle Is Best? for all the specifics.
